Seabrook Rail Trail Alliance
THE GOAL:
is to construct a non-motorized, recreational trail on the Eastern Rail Road Corridor in Seabrook, NH.
We need your help to accomplish this goal. Let's create a fun and safe trail for all our citizens.
Who are you?
* The family with young children who want to bike and walk together on a safe and peaceful trail.
* Teenagers who want to roller-blade or walk with their friends on the trail to the Seabrook Rec Center.
* Seniors who want to use the trail from their housing development to the library or shopping.
* Parents who wants a safe place for their children to: walk, run, or bike on a beautiful natural trail, free of motorized traffic.
If we act now, we could have a trail like this:
From This:
This trail could become a great community asset, especially since we have become the destination for NH Tax-free shopping. The traffic has become horrendous and there is very few, if any safe roads to walk or ride a bike east of Rt. 95. Also not all our children are involved in organized sports and this will give these children a safe place to learn to ride a bike, roller-blade with their friends, while getting out in the fresh air, hopefully becoming fitter while doing so. Maybe even attracting many who may not exercise outdoors currently for lack of a safe venue near their homes.
BUT WE NEED YOU NOW!
We are gathering a coalition of citizens to make this trail a reality. Please join us!
The more citizens, the better. Let's work together to make this a wonderful resource for Seabrook.
We currently have the
support of several partners
that will be doing a considerable amount of work, such as technical
writing and design, submitting grant proposals, identifying potential
funding sources and communicating with
NH DOT, NH DRED and other state
& federal agencies. If we don't act now we WILL lose this
resource!
